NEW YORK WITH KIEHL'S

"I'm in New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of"

This is definitely a very cliche line to start my post but it's exactly what's in my mind the whole time while I was in New York. It's so surreal that I can finally travel to New York because it has been one of the places that I wanted to go in my bucket list.

New York was cold, 0 degree celsius. My fingers were freezing the moment I stepped out of the airport. Luckily this trip was with Kiehl's, they arranged a car and we went straight to the hotel at The Beekman, a Thompson Hotel.

Best part of travelling is when the hotel room is nice and cozy, most importantly for me the toilet is so Instagram worthy. So kind of Kiehl's to have all my skincare products ready for me, and I was already so excited to begin World of Kiehl's (WOK) 2017 in New York!!

Let me just have a brief about WOK. It's an annual regional event where Kiehl's New York would invite selected media and influencers all over the world to experience the Kiehl's world where they introduce new products and also educate us more with the Kiehl's history and origin.

Kiehl's Apothecary Preparations - Personalized Skincare Treatments

If you are a huge fans of Kiehl's, I bet you must be waiting for this apothecary preparations to be available in Malaysia since last year? This personalized skincare serum was introduced last year and since then became a must have product to all Kiehl's consumer because it is a tailor-made skincare concentrates that address each customer’s unique skin concerns.

Kiehl's consultant will have an in depth discussion to understand and identify your specific skin concern and each customer’s personalized Apothecary Preparations facial concentrate is comprised of three distinctive parts: the base, Kiehl’s Skin Strengthening Concentrate, plus two, individually selected Targeted Complexes. These are the targeted and following concerns most important to the customer: redness, wrinkles, rough texture, large pores and dullness.

So after having a better understanding on my skin condition, my main concerns are dullness and also redness on skin. Just squeeze the serum into the the base and this personalized serum is ready to bring  glow to my skin.  Pstt... I heard that this apothecary preparation will be coming to Malaysia by end of this year! heh :)

Here comes the fun night! Kiehl's Nature Playground. Totally not like an ordinary event, because it's full of fun and play! They have swings, slides and even trampoline for every guest to just play around.

But the best part is this, the launched of the new Calendula and Aloe Soothing Hydration Masque! I have been crazy over this product since trying it in New York!

This product is no joke and you would know how much I love it because I have been saying it for so many times on my social media. LOL... Kiehl’s introduced its customers to the Calendula petal in the 1960s, with the launch of Calendula Herbal Extract Toner and now this masque formulated with Calendula flower petals and Aloe Vera, bursts into a refreshing surge of cooling hydration upon application.

The best part is that you just need to leave it on for 5 mins after cleansing, instantly your skin feels hydrated, soothed and refreshed! It's like magic on your skin, so suitable if you are having stress on work or studies which makes your skin dull and dry.

You won't have much time to go for facial or a 20 mins mask time, so this 5 mins magic works perfectly on your skin. Good news is, it's already launched in Malaysia at all Kiehl's store!!!

The last day of WOK was the launched of Kiehl's Men's Grooming Solution Line. I'm really happy that I could experience first hand on all the products straight from New York which you can't find anywhere in the world yet!

The complete six-piece range offers essential products to meet a man’s unique grooming needs:
·       multitasking Nourishing Shampoo + Conditioner,
·       matte finish Texturizing Clay,
·       moldable no-shine Creative Cream Wax,
·       firm holding but natural looking Clean Styling Gel,
·       softening power of Nourishing Beard Grooming Oil and
·       skin buffing efficacy of Exfoliating Body Soap

This trip was packed, worthy and amazing. Although I don't have much free time, but I did squeeze a few hours everyday to explore this wonderful city.

From Soho to Empire State Building to Brooklyn Bridge, Williamsburg and Times Square. Every place that I walk, breathe and snap pictures feels like I'm in some Hollywood movie. It's a city of dream and also a dream come true.

Check out my New York Vlog on places I went and also my OOTD inspiration!!

The moment when we all realise we learn from mistakes

There you go, another year has passed and it's already 2017.
I have not been writing for quite some time, have not been writing very often and I know it.
I realize I only want to write when I have the mood, I only want to write when I have something in mind to express. This does not come very often.

Usually my first post of the year will be a recap of last year, but this time I'm not gonna do it. It's not that I did not have a good 2016, I must say that 2016 has treated me real good and I have learned and grew a lot from it.

It's just that if you have been following me long enough, you will basically know what I did in 2016, and if you have not, why not start now in 2017?

Looking back from where I started, the moment I started blogging and the moment I started social media as a career really made me realise something, WE ALL MAKE MISTAKES

Blogging did not start very early for me, it was when I was 17 and started to blog because everyone is doing it. Totally have no idea and direction that this could lead me to what I'm doing now. I graduated and decided to not get a full time job because I wanted to give it a try in doing modelling and "social media"

No joke, my parents were worried. Ok, maybe they still are. Hahaha.. Even for myself, I'm not sure if this is a right move.

Now after graduating for 2 years, I'm still doing it. Not dying yet. Hopefully not so soon. LOL... But that's not the point.

We always have idea and dreams that we want to execute, but not the courage to do so. Some are afraid of failure, some are afraid of mistakes.

It's true, we all faced this issue everyday. We won't know what is wrong and what is right before we try, no one succeeds in one day. I'm not saying that I'm successful but this journey has taught me a lot.

It has taught me to try, to fail and to make mistakes. This is where we realise we are actually learning and growing in life.

We may not get what we want one from the first try, maybe not the second either, god knows how long more should we try? There is no waiting success, there is only real life experience.

There is never trying too hard or doing too much, it's all experience and knowledge that you are gaining. This is when you realise how much mistakes you have made in the past and how you should improve from it.

I'm still making mistakes but I'm not giving up in trying new things. Making mistakes makes you smarter, makes you stronger.

2017, let's not hide or give up on mistakes, let's take it as a challenge, a path that all of us go through to be smarter, stronger and better.

Wishing all of you a Happy 2017, the moment you realise your mistakes and take it as a learning lesson to be better! xoxo
